We, the undersigned, support keeping the existing City and Borough of Juneau mining ordinance, which was approved unanimously by the CBJ Assembly after a two-year consensus-driven process. Proposed changes to the ordinance would cut the public out of a mine review process and would limit the CBJ's ability to balance mining development with environmental and social concerns. Revising the mining ordinance now will take a huge amount of CBJ staff, Assembly, Planning Commission, and citizen time. We are among the many Juneau residents who care passionately about clean water and quality of life. We will engage in any effort to amend the mining ordinance by advocating for stronger protections for the community and resources.
Note: Emails are for organizers, they will NOT be shared with the Assembly
