Climate Conversations: 30 by 30 for Alaska

SEACC invites you to our new monthly Climate Conversations series to help you stay up-to-date and engaged on the latest climate change developments in the Biden administration and in Senator Murkowski’s office!

Our first Climate Conversation will be Thursday, Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. Alaska Time, and is focusing on Biden’s ambitious “30 by 30” plan to permanently protect 30% of U.S. lands and waters by 2030.

Wild landscapes are critical to sequestering carbon and mitigating the worst effects of climate change, and SEACC believes those closest to the land — Indigenous people, commercial fishermen and local communities — know best how to protect those lands and must be centered in the 30 by 30 process.
