We have all seen the remnants of the Perseverance mine, but did you know that the hills above Juneau were once riddled with mines, including the AJ? Join SEACC’s Guy Archibald on a guided hike through the history of the AJ Mine and learn about how the proposed changes to the CBJ Mining Ordinance would make it easier to open the AJ and others, right here in Juneau, with minimal public say.
We will be meeting at the Perseverance trailhead at 6 and hiking from there.
Note: this is a 2-mile round-trip hike with considerable elevation gain and potentially difficult terrain.
