The United States Department of Agriculture announced that the long-awaited 60-day public process restoring the national Roadless Rule to the Tongass is open! During the 60-day comment period, the public can submit official comments on the Biden administration’s decision to move to repeal the Trump-era, so-called “Alaska-specific” Roadless Rule, which removed 2001 national Roadless Rule protections from the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska. The public are able to submit comments for the record signaling their support for the protection of the national Roadless Rule!

We need all hands on deck, which means SEACC is seeking phone bank volunteers! Sign up to join our Roadless Phone Bank Team so we can ensure that this comment period is a success.

We have 60 days to remind the Forest Service just how many Southeast Alaskans support Roadless protections. Please join us to get our calls out to Southeast Alaska Conservation supporters who have yet to submit their comments in support of the Roadless Rule!
