“Water” by Gianna Casey

The waves struck the small opening to the pool
as the sun was sinking down.
White swans elegantly swam to the edge of the pool,
dipping their heads in with grace,
smoothly lifting their heads to surface and float silently across the water
as it rippled in response.
The sun spread a warm path along the water,
as silver white clouds sunk low….
and the ocean still faintly struggled to fit through the small gap
into the pool.
As the sun sunk below the clouds,
swans turned into silhouettes,
and the pool was silent.
